Save $80 on one of our favorite earbuds
Google Pixel phones are some of the best phones you can buy if you need great cameras and the joy of the company’s stock Android experience. Google's Pixel Buds Pro are part of the same product range, delivering spectacular sound quality, no matter what you like listening to. They are some of our favorite wireless earbuds we can recommend without second thoughts, but the typical $200 price tag makes them rather expensive for many buyers.
Google's new flagship deserves to be paired with quality earbuds
Google has upped its game with this year's Pixel 8, a new flagship for the masses that delivers some amazing AI tools in a remarkably pocketable design. This is thanks to its new Tensor G3 chip that makes Google's latest smartphone so much greater than the sum of its parts. With so much modern magic packed inside the Pixel 8, it would be a shame to pick up anything less than a pair of the best wireless earbuds for your new smartphone. Still, with so many options out there, you may be wondering if any set is better than the others for tight integration with the Pixel 8's best features.
The Google Nest Audio gets its first deal all year
The ever-expanding season known as Black Friday is springing deals on us earlier and earlier, and while November 24 is still just over a week away, Walmart is diving head-first into its second wave of Black Friday deals with discounts on everything from tablets to Toblerones, smart water to smartwatches. There are some impressive diamonds in the rough of these early sales, and while you'll need to turn your attention to Best Buy's sales or Amazon for any worthwhile Black Friday phone deals, the audio and tablet deals here are nothing to sneeze at, and it's got one of the best smartwatch deals we're likely to see all month.
If you’ve invested in the Google Pixel 8 Pro, possibly the company’s greatest mobile phone achievement to date, you’ll want a pair of earbuds to make the most of your new purchase. And, since this phone is pricey, we’ve included options for all price ranges, whether you want a pair to match the premium nature of the Pixel 8 Pro or a pair that won’t set your pocketbook back much further.
You don't have to shell out thousands on expensive podcast equipment
Contemporary Android tablets and smartphones give you everything you need to make a podcast. They have a microphone, access to recording apps, and a camera, should you need one. It won't be a high-production podcast, but it'll do just fine, especially when you're starting out.
Bose has refined its popular mid-tier headphones, but are they worth the upgrade?
Bose’s 2021 QuietComfort 45 headphones remain one of the most comfortable pairs of noise-canceling headphones in their class. While they may not provide all the high-end features of more expensive Bose and Sony picks, they’re a great choice for casual listeners and running enthusiasts looking for a set of headphones that will really keep the outside noise at bay.
Good wireless headphones are an investment — here are all your best options
Wireless headphones are one of the best ways of blocking out the outside world when listening to music. They also generally offer a better experience than the best wireless earbuds – as good as they may be – whether it’s due to better long-term comfort or a more immersive listening experience.
Waterproof, shockproof, and ready for anything
For 2023, Jabra is offering us a streamlined product lineup with two new sets of premium true wireless earbuds that are much better set apart from each other. While the Jabra Elite 10 takes up the company's flagship space, the Jabra Elite 8 Active are very clearly a pair of workout earbuds that still promise great audio quality and active noise cancelation while being billed by the company as "the world's toughest earbuds."
These $99, often discounted earbuds are filled with plenty of features, making them a great fitness set if they fit on your ears
Fitness earbuds walk a thin line. They must be compact enough not to impact your workout and sturdy enough not to fly off your ear during a particularly enthusiastic deadlift. The JLab Epic Air Sport earbuds toe this thin pretty well, providing a comfortable fit without sacrificing the tech features everyday users have become accustomed to in their audio-providing devices. That, combined with a long battery life and good all-around audio quality, make these earbuds more than worthy of consideration for your fitness playlist needs.
Find the best speakers to bring that Chrome-powered computer alive
Whichever Chromebook model you're using, there's one unfortunate trait shared by all of these laptops, and that's unexceptional sound. We’re not pointing fingers at certain brands or peripheral designs because it's tough to rise above the bare minimum when it comes to laptop sound. Then there's the Chromebox, which has no speakers whatsoever.
Take care of your earbuds as you look after your smartphone
Wireless earbuds have become a must-have accessory in recent years, as smartphone manufacturers have done their level best to kill off the 3.5mm headphone jack entirely. Unlike a few years ago, you won't have to spend a lot to own a pair of wireless earbuds: there are plenty of good, cheap true wireless earbuds to choose from. But even inexpensive tech needs taken care of to go the distance.
If you’re tired of the tinny audio your TV speakers are stuck with, but don’t want the hassle of running speaker wire for a full surround-system, the perfect Goldilocks solution to your audible problems is a soundbar. More than just a boost in the volume department, a good soundbar will enhance every level of your audio experience, adding more highs, lows, and middle frequencies to whatever you’re listening to.
It doesn’t get much better when it comes to tuning in without fully tuning out
Listening to music, podcasts, or audiobooks, sometimes we want to just tune everything else out. The 1More Fit Open Earbuds S50 are a pair of Bluetooth earbuds that are decidedly not for tuning out. These earbuds set out to let you enjoy what you’re listening to while still hearing everything going on around you, and they deliver.
These exceptional earbuds won't break the bank while still delivering quality
There's the old adage that says, "You get what you pay for," and that certainly applies to earbuds. Even the best cheap true wireless earbuds won't have the uncompromising sound quality and effective active noise cancellation received with premium earbuds like the Sony 1000XM5s. It all comes down to how much you're ready to spend. However, if you're okay with tempering your expectations a bit, there are options. You'll even find earbuds with Bluetooth 5.2, ANC, and surprisingly good fidelity — for the price, that is.
The Galaxy Buds FE are shaping up to be a high-quality mid-grade option, but can you charge them wirelessly?
Samsung’s FE (Fan Edition) line of devices is intended to deliver high-quality experiences, focusing primarily on what users want at competitive pricing. While revealing the Galaxy S23 FE smartphone and the Galaxy Tab S9 FE models, Samsung also officially unveiled the Galaxy Buds FE. With FE devices, Samsung is finding a balance between cost and features, and it’s evident with the Galaxy Buds FE which aspects the company was willing to leave behind in favor of a lower price tag.
The best buds you can buy at the best price to date are hard to pass up
One of the bigger letdowns of Prime Day Part 2 back in October was that we only saw a measly $30 discount on some of the best wireless earbuds on the market. The Sony WF-1000XM5 earbuds launched three months ago at the end of July — Sony silently launched them while everyone was distracted by Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic launch — and they'd held fast at their launch price of $300 stubbornly all fall outside that $30 tax rebate of a "deal."
There may be a lot of water-resistant earbuds out there, but not many are appropriate for swimming. To start, most water-resistant earbuds can't withstand extended time submerged underwater. On top of that, Bluetooth has a hard time moving through water, so the Spotify app streaming on your phone won't reach your earbuds while you're swimming laps. For the best swimming experience, you'll need bone-conduction headphones. Bone-conduction headphones are some of the best headphones for swimming because they don’t have any openings for water to seep into, so the majority are waterproof. And since many models are marketed toward swimmers, they find ways around the whole Bluetooth issue, typically by including a built-in MP3 player or something similar to provide uninterrupted music (or podcasts) while completing laps.
No gimmicks here, the case should be a template for premium buds going forward
It’s refreshing to see a company experimenting with something different in the sea of wireless earbud homogeneity. JBL’s Tour Pro 2 breaks new ground for premium earbuds by pairing them with a touchscreen-equipped charging case. While they’re not cheap and have some bugs and half-baked aspects, JBL did a great job on its first time out.
Drown out the outside world with the best noise-cancelling headphones available
We live in a hectic, bustling world, and sometimes all the chaotic noise can be overwhelming. That's where the best noise-cancelling headphones come in, blocking out all the unwelcome background sound and stress, so you can get lost in a world of music or your favorite soothing podcast. Noise-cancelling is an impressive technology that works by listening to the environment around you and then creating anti-noise to counteract it.
The Tribit StormBox Flow can pump the jams for a whole day, but it does end up a little harder to tote.
Tribit has made a splash with its portable Bluetooth speakers, and the new Tribit StormBox Flow is positioned to offer powerful sound you can take with you and enjoy all day. Better yet, it's a steal at $80 compared to the many similar speakers that cost well north of $100.
